(She/Her/Hers)

Lisa Nordman offers a compassionate, grounded, and collaborative approach to supporting clients in achieving greater personal awareness and happiness. Engaging in conversation with Lisa helps clients to attain a positive sense of well-being as they navigate a path towards self-actualization. She holds a deep curiosity and genuine empathy with respect to people’s struggles. With over 30 years of experience working with the Vancouver School Board in a variety of community-based settings, she builds an environment of trust to support diversity in gender identity, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. She helps people cultivate relationships with each other as well as connect within themselves. Lisa’s counselling practice is informed through extensive training and experience and is in alignment with the First People’s Principles of Learning. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Focusing Oriented Therapy and Family Systems models.

She has a special interest in Couples Therapy. By using evidence-based practices, Lisa can facilitate improved communication, build trust and safety, and manage concerns related to mental health challenges or trauma. Together, with her clients, she will explore avenues for greater intimacy and connection, by working on communication styles, clarifying commitment, and navigating infidelity issues. Emotion Focused Therapy, Gottman Method and Esther Perel inform her couples counselling practice.
